Dr. Radha Anand

Dr. Radha Anand received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Calgary in 2004, majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. At the Illinois College of Optometry she received her Doctorate of Optometry with honours in 2008, and has since joined the eyecare team at the Airdrie and Innisfail Eyecare Centres. During her final year of her graduate program she participated in clinical rotations throughout the United States of America.

Her first clinical externship was a pediatric rotation specializing in Vvision Ttherapy in Connecticut. The Boston Veterans Medical Centre gave her invaluable patient experience specializing in ocular disease (including Diabetic and Hypertensive examinations). The next stop on her clinical journey was in Detroit, where she worked primarily with ocular disease and low vision patients at the Detroit Veterans Medical Centre. She ended her clinical rotations in Chicago, at the Illinois College of Optometry, working with specialty contact lens patients and in the ocular emergencies department.

Dr. Anand donates regularly to "Optometry Giving Sight", an organization designed to provide eyewear and ocular health examinations to those that do not have access to routine eyecare. Although Nairobi, Kenya is Dr. Anand's birthplace, she was raised in Calgary. Dedication to the Optometric field and providing exceptional eye care at the Airdrie and Innisfail Eyecare Centres are her commitments.
